Would you like to help organize any of the following events? If you would like to spearhead one of these events please let us know. If you’d like to be put on a contact list to help when we find someone else to lead the charge, also let us know. If you simply have more ideas for getting the word out and increasing community solidarity on issues related to irresponsible riverfront development send them along too! firstname.lastname@example.org
Awareness benefit with donated musicians and beer.
Potluck or community gathering on or near the riverfront with a tour of the site. Visions of the future will be provided by ConnectingEugene.
Public seminar or town-hall type forum – Do you have a location and a crowd? We have lecture materials and lecturers.
Letter writing campaign – bring friends and neighbors together for an evening of envelope licking or email writing. You can discuss your dreams and visions and help inform City and University officials of your desires.
Carpeting- Make the tour of your neighborhood to increase awareness of the impending developments along the river. We can provide handouts and base materials.
Interviews or Articles- On local public access channels, popular podcasts, mainstream television or radio, or in print media. Do you manage or have access to any of these forms of media? Can you help us get the word out? Many ConnectingEugene members are available and eager to speak publicly.
We need help in researching many of the legal, ethical, and environmental aspects of this campaign. If you’re willing to plow through public records or government websites to find official documentation of past policies or laws that may have been forgotten relating to riverfront development please let us know. We also have specific research questions to address at all times. It is generally difficult for us to do this research during working hours, so without your help it might not get accomplished.
